Reflectins on Celts Day Conference

Organised by Inverness Museum and Art Gallery in partnership with National Museums of Scotland

Dr Fraser Hunter, co-curator of The British Musem’s and National Museums Scotland’s joint exhibition Celts, will lead this day of talks and discussion with his keynote lecture ‘Celts: art and identity’.

Dr Hunter will be joined by archaeologists Steven Birch and Mary Peteranna.

Steven Birch will give a talk entitled: ‘A Sense of place: constructing memories and shared identities at the High Pasture Cave Complex, Skye’.

Mary Peteranna’s talk ‘Looking inside and outside of Craig Phadrig Hillfort, Inverness’ will reveal insights discovered during her recent fieldwork at this iconic site, a prominent landscape feature, long associated with the Fortress of King

Become a time detective and investigate Celtic bling replicas from the National Museum of Scotland. Make your own crafty Carnyx hand puppet and find out about the Celts' massive silver jewellery and a feasting cauldron. For 7-12 year olds.
